Visualizing the inner workings of the brain is no simple task. In the video you see here, researchers combined the information obtained from thousands of microscopic images to recreate the 3-D image of two nerve cells forming connections in the brainstem of a young mouse. New technologies, such as those used to create this movie, are revealing information about the brain’s connectome, or wiring diagram.
